Editize : WYSIWYG Text Editor For Content Management Systems

FAQs

Editize is a Java applet. Does that mean it's slow?

Try it for yourself!

Java code is interpreted by your operating system in real time. This does affect the performance of Java applets, but in an efficiently coded applet, the performance hit should not be noticeable. The latest Java technology, which Editize uses, is faster than ever.

To create Editize, we chose Java technology for its cross-browser capabilities. Editize will run on a wide range of browsers and operating systems, so your users aren't forced to use a particular browser to access your site, or disappointed when they find their favorite browser is not supported. This gives your customers more freedom of choice!

For comparison, Microsoft's new .NET technology actually works in much the same way. It is interpreted by your system, incurring the same performance hit, but it lacks the platform- and browser-independence of Java.
